About this image
67. Flannel Flower of Casa Branca and Butterflies, Brazil.
The Flannel Flower (Macrosiphonia longiflora, Muell.) is so called on account of the plant being densely clothed with woolly hairs. It is a member of the Apocynaceae, and is remarkable for the very long tube of the flower. The Butterflies are a species of Catagramma on the left and Callicore Clymene on the right. Observe the mark 88 on their wings.
