About this image
614. The Turong, or Pigeon Orchid in Borneo, and a purple-brown Cymbidium
The former (Dendrobium crumenatum, Lindl.) comes into blossom simultaneously on all the plants about every nine weeks, and the trees and roofs on which it grows seem on those days to be covered with snow, which on the morrow all melts away. Forbes alludes to its behaving in the same way in Sumatra. The Cymnbidium is C. Finlaysonianum, Lindl.
