11. Mexican Poppies, Chilian Schizanthus and Insects.
The Mexican Poppy (Argemone mexicana, Linn.) colonisesfreely, and is now widely spread in warm countries of both hemispheres. Sclhizanthus belongs to the same family as Salpiglossis (see 22), and like that: is peculiar to the Chilian region. There are several species ; the one here depicted i S. pinnatus, Ruiz et Pav.
